a visit from some old friends

On Sunday Bryan and Cheryl Johnson dropped by. They got a last minute deal on a hotel here in the LA area and popped up for the weekend. It had been a long time since I had seen me old friend- the former Cheryl Palmer. She now has four kids! Cora (the eldest) followed by Jack, then Palmer, and finally Heber James. Heber actually arrived within a few days of the boys' due date, so developmentally and sizewise they are about the same age. The kids were all super cute and actually entertained themselves longer than I thought they would with all the toys we've got scattered around the place. It was great to see Cherly and Bryan too. Their kids look just like them, well, actually they look mostly like Bryan. It was fun to see them!

boys boys boys

Our boys are becoming more vertical than ever before. They like to stand up on their own two feet- assisted of course by couches, chairs, cushions, little tables, walls, even people's legs to help them get to that point. They are so sweet and cuddly!! Yeay for boys!

Where's Waldo

Antonio Machado - Spanish poet 1875 - 1939

Last night as I was sleeping,
I dreamt—marvelous error!—
that I had a beehive
here inside my heart.
And the golden bees
were making white combs
and sweet honey
from my old failures.

Actual Oliver Pics

Just look at this little angel!!!!

Power

When she learned that she
Didn't have to plug into
Someone or something
Like a toaster into a wall

When she learned that she
was a windmill and had only
To raise her arms
To catch the universal whisper
And turn
turn
turn

She moved.

Oh, she moved
And her dance was a marvel.

Rico's Temple Trip

Hey everyone - David, Dad, Beej and I had a wonderful experience last Saturday. Rico received his endowments at the Seattle Temple. There were two other new missionaries in the same session. One of them was from our stake and is going to another mission in Chile.
Only a week left before Elder Rico speaks in church and then it's on to Provo and other exciting adventures for the elder.

Non-Oliver pics

Sorry I've been so disappointing in terms of the proliferation of Oliver pictures (still looking for my charger). So I thought instead, I would post pictures of what Oliver doesn't look like and you all can rule out any imaginations of Oliver that are inaccurate.
