Our Grad!!
This weekend I had the honor of going to Seattle to see Rachel - our newest Grad, complete her last high school event! The high school commencement ceremony was AWESOME- And she graduated with flying colors!! We are so proud of you, Rach!
I enjoyed seeing her thrill and excitement before we left for the ceremony as she opened her gift from Meliss- a beautiful hand-made quilt to keep her warm in her new dorm room!
The commencement event was held downtown and the center was packed! It was so amazing to see her walk across the stage to get her diploma after four years of hard work, sports teams, volunteer service projects, and seminary! Wow, way to go Rach! When she made her way through the audience at the beginning Beej was quick to jump over the chairs to get a picture of her! We had a blast watching I was also really impressed with how she played her violin. After a great speech by one of the English teachers, in which he closed with 'Islanders, make waves,' Rach and a couple friends proceeded to the stage where they performed 'Viva la vida' by Coldplay on (get this) violin, flute, and piano. Even though they performed in front of hundreds of people, they were so professional! It was totally amazing, and I've had the song in my head since then :)
Congrats, Rach! We love you and wish you the best in college!

BIRTHDAY GIRL!!!
OUR BIRTHDAY GIRL - JUNE 8, 1978
We will always be grateful to Melissa Devon for welcoming Dad and I into the fabulous realm of parenting. Thank you Melissa for doing it soooo well. You were a joy from day one and we have always been so proud of you, and even more so now. When you were born, the nurses at the hospital commented on how alert you were - all the other babies were sleeping, but your big brown eyes were looking around, taking everything in. When you were a toddler we marvelled at how precocious and clever you were. And when you got older you seemed to have a special gift of grace and poise that would allow you to meet any challenge and to excel in so many different areas.
When your siblings came along we were amazed at what a caring big sister you were - We were so proud of you, and we still are, but even more so.
You've always been a wonderful daughter and sister and now a wonderful wife and mother. Four little boys are so very lucky to have you as their mama.
We love you and wish you a year of all your Disney -dreams -come -true, especially the one that Sleeping Beauty was best known for - and we all know what that is!! :)

Obisk (VISIT)
My old mission companion is living close by for the summer! Her husband is doing an internship, so I was absolutely spoiled with a whole day of fun with them!! We went to the Santa Monica pier, saw the art work on the Promenade and heard some street performing, and tried a great Mexican restaurant! It was a blast. The weather was a little spotty- it was really windy on the pier, but we had a fabulous time. Here's a pic of us getting our long strands tangled in the wind!
