MARCH MADNESS

Thanks to the generosity and connections of Uncle Jim and Peter, David and I were able to watch the Western Regional Tournament of the NCAA men's basketball playoff, commonly known as "March Madness". It was held at Energy Solutions Arena in SLC.

We saw teams and players with breathtaking skill and determination. We saw Kansas State defeat Xavier in double overtime, which hadn't happened in over 20 years in this tournament. The team from Butler University in Indianapolis won the tournament and the right to advance to the Final Four, which is the next and final round of the tournament. Butler is not one of the noted powerhouses in college basketball - it has only 4000 students and plays in one of the lesser known conferences, but through teamwork and sheer determination they were able to
defeat Syracuse, the number 1 seed, and Kansas State, the number 2 seed. Both the teams they defeated had players with greater individual talent, but their coaching and teamwork were not as good. Five players working together can overcome many challenges. I think this is a good lesson for all of us.
Luv,
Gramps

We also have good connections and have enjoyed your beautiful home. Now that we have learned most of the technology about the place perhaps we should move in!!
I agree that 'with good coaching and team effort we can overcome many challenges'
So your mother-in-law agrees with you! Aren't you lucky??
